Document Creator

v0.10.0

Document templates in Google Docs, filled with variables and exported to PDF

Install Document Creator

Document templates and documents live in a connected Google Drive as Google Docs. Placeholders like {{ client_name }} are detected in templates, a document is created by copying a template and filling the values via the Docs API, and PDFs are exported through the Drive API with no local binary. The module keeps database records of templates and documents alongside Drive.

Use it when

  • You generate contracts, offers or letters from templates that non-developers edit in Google Docs
  • You need PDFs of filled documents without running a headless browser

What it gives you

  • Templates and documents edited directly in Google Docs
  • {{ variable }} detection and substitution via the Docs API
  • PDF export through the Google Drive API
  • Thumbnail previews on listing cards
  • Google OAuth connection at /admin/settings/document-creator
  • Admin pages Documents and Templates under /admin/document-creator
